These last works represent the desire to return to the origin of painting, that is, when men not yet able to write and perhaps not even speak, picked up a piece of burnt wood or colored earth and outlined on the walls of a cave the image of some great animal or a particularly exciting hunting scene. What drove them to do this? Maybe they did it to pay homage to the spirit of a powerful Mammoth, or out of good omen for the next hunt, to take courage?

The pandemic year, with all the horror, pain and difficulties, raised a general reflection on our lifestyle, increasingly distant from nature, its rules, its presence.

I wondered what I would draw on the walls of an improvised shelter, not knowing what to expect from the future, if I didn’t have certainties. And I realized that what I would want to leave behind is something that would do me well, bring me luck.

Just like our ancestors did.
So my canvases were filled with plants and animals, a world unfortunately more and more distant from our daily life.
